Eucharistic Adoration allows us to pray before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus calls each of us to grow closer to Him every day. By visiting Jesus during adoration, we form an intimate relationship with Him. At SEAS, we invite families to commit to adoration one Tuesday every month for the coming year. Tuesday adoration starts at 6 pm, when Fr. O’Connor or Deacon Bill place the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance on the altar, surrounded by candelabras. A hymn is sung, and incense is used as our prayers rise up. In silence, worshippers pray, give thanks, and talk with Jesus for whatever amount of time they can offer. Benediction is celebrated at 7:50, where again we sing hymns, use incense and receive a solemn blessing before the Blessed Sacrament is reposed to the tabernacle.
These special moments with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament are very memorable, and bring grace to your own family and our parish family. For families with little ones, consider coming for the first 15 minutes. For families with older children, coming at 7:30 for 30 minutes to experience quiet prayer, the blessing, and reposing of the Eucharist will leave lasting memories of faith and love and a confidence that Jesus is very near to us.
This commitment is for every month of the coming year. We will re-register ministers at the start of each new school year.
Of course, all are welcome at any time, but by agreeing to commit to a certain time of Adoration, we assure that Jesus is never alone and others can drop in as schedules allow.
