As many of us make sandwiches once a month for the Samaritan Center, we wonder what it is like at the Samaritan Center (the former St. John the Evangelist Church on North State Street in Syracuse near St. Joseph’s Hospital). For over 40 years, the Samaritan Center has been preparing and serving meals for so many that need a boost. So, a core group of sandwich makers from St. Augustine’s has decided we would like to go to the Samaritan Center and volunteer to help prepare and serve a weekday afternoon meal. Would you like to join us? You are hereby invited to do so! Our volunteer shift will be from 12:30 until 3:00 PM on a weekday to be identified. We will meet at St. Augustine’s Parish beforehand to carpool. Interested? Questions? Call the St. Augustine’s Parish Office, which will put you in touch with one of our sandwich makers.
