We have missionaries coming to Baldwinsville?!?

This week, we are blessed to have with us college students who have given up their summer to train and become missionaries. In our historical imagination, missionaries traveled to far-off places to bring the Good News of Jesus to people who had never heard of him. In some ways, that description is still true. Who knew that Central New York would be the far-off place someone would travel to? Our elementary and high school students need the Good News of Jesus brought to them, and who better than young people who are closer to their age. The missionaries have come from places across the United States and are living this summer in community together away from their family and friends. Those sacrifices allow the Holy Spirit to enkindle an even greater fire in them. Please pray for them this week by name: Joey Labbe, MaryElizabeth Savage, Andrew Erickson, and Elizabeth Joseph. Also, pray for the youth from Baldwinsville and Liverpool who will be coming together for this special week. May the Holy Spirit burn ever brighter as it did in the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who replied to the Lord’s invitation with an answer of “Totus Tuus” – I am “Totally Yours.”
