The Immaculata Medallion is a Diocesan award given annually to honor the extraordinary efforts of lay people in supporting parish life. This year, we are acknowledging all of the Seton Food Pantry Volunteers. While it may have been fun to “storm the castle” with all of the many generous volunteers, we thought it better to have them represented by Billy Lisconish. Billy received the Immaculata Medallion from Bishop Lucia at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Billy has volunteered at the Seton Food Pantry for 13 years. His smiling face greets clients and other volunteers every Tuesday. He willingly pushes their carts out to their cars, even in the rain, sleet, and snow. As we thank Billy, we take time to thank all the generous hands who help every week to provide food and other necessary items, stock the shelves, and assist the clients. And we also thank Jennifer Guild, who coordinates the Seton Pantry – treating everyone with dignity and respect. With all the love that goes into the Food Pantry, it is impossible not to be in a better mood after an encounter with Billy and the other volunteers. Thank you all and congratulations!
