Syracuse City residents are 31 percent of Onondaga County’s population, but they deal with at least 88% of all cases of lead poisoning!

Our parish Advocates for Social Justice invite you to join us to become more aware and more engaged about this local injustice of lead poisoning affecting our children.  The week of October 26-30 is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week with the following local activities planned:

  • Monday, October 26: Flag Raising at Syracuse City Hall at 11 AM
  • Wednesday, October 28: Community Awareness Opportunity at Westcott Community Center (corner of Westcott Street and Euclid Avenue in Syracuse) at 5:30 PM
  • Thursday, October 29: Candlelight Observance of Hope at Syracuse City Hall at 5:00 PM (rain or shine)

Come to remember, reflect, pray, and be in solidarity with those impacted by lead for our precious children.

Carpooling to these events will be offered. For more information, call or text Luanne DeFelice at (315) 857-3023.
